Interested in being a Finance-Focused Trustee for Girlguiding North West England?
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join Girlguiding North West England as a non-member Trustee, specifically in the role of Finance Chair. This is a unique chance to contribute to a charity dedicated to empowering girls and young women through fun, friendship, challenge, and adventure.
About Girlguiding North West England: Girlguiding North West England boasts a rich history of over 110 years and stands as the largest girl-only charity in the region, with over 44,000 members, including around 9,000 adult volunteers. Our mission is to help all girls know that they can do anything, providing them with opportunities to explore, have fun, and know that they belong. We cover 18 counties, from the top of Cumbria to the bottom of Cheshire, including the Isle of Man and the British Overseas Territories.
The charity is governed by a board of trustees who meet regularly to provide strategic direction, oversee the charity’s work, and support the Executive Manager. As the Finance Chair, you will not only be a trustee but also chair our Finance Committee.
Our Commitment to EDI: Our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) is woven into the fabric of our governance. We recognize that a diverse trustee body brings a wealth of perspectives, experiences, and insights that are vital for effective decision-making and fostering innovation. Our EDI objectives focus on creating an environment where every trustee feels valued and empowered, regardless of their background, identity, or lived experiences. We actively seek to attract trustees from a range of diverse backgrounds, ensuring that our leadership reflects the communities we serve. Through our commitment to EDI, we are cultivating a trustee body that champions inclusivity and helps shape a more equitable future for all.
Role of the Finance Chair: As the Finance Chair, you will play a vital role in overseeing the financial management of the charity. Your responsibilities will include:
What We Are Looking For: We are seeking someone with a finance background who is not a member of Girlguiding but aligns with our values. While previous governance experience is not required, we value a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and the ability to think creatively and strategically
