Heritage & Archive
While there’s been Guiding in the north west since 1910, Girlguiding Noth West England was introduced as a region of Girlguiding in 1960, alongside the other countries and regions of Scotland, Cymru, Ulster, North East England, Midlands, London and South East England, Anglia, and South West England.
Our HQ has always been in Preston – first in Ribblesdale Place (1971), before we moved to our current home in 2013. We introduced our Region standard in 1979, and have kept it ever since!
We maintain an archive collection of over 2000 objects relating to the history of Girlguiding in the region. From badges to uniform, and scrapbooks to tapes, our collection spans from 1910 to the present day.
