We are holding a Trainer Support Day at Region HQ on Saturday 19 September – this is open to all Trainers, Trainee Trainers, Peer Educators and anyone interested in becoming a trainer/educator.
The day will start with a welcome from our Region Chief Rona, followed by training and support for trainers focusing on topics such as team building, re-energising as trainers, new concepts, adult learning theory, etc., facilitated by trainers from outside the Region. With the afternoon focusing on smaller-group discussion alongside our Region advisers. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Adventures…in the City 22 May, 2026Get ready for Adventures in the City, an exciting weekend takeover in Chester packed with challenges, creativity, teamwork, and fun! 💙
You choose the day you would like your unit to attend. Across the city, teams will complete activities inspired by Chester’s history, landmarks, and community — from navigation games and photo challenges to leadership tasks and sustainability missions 🌱📸

Duke of Edinburgh Gold, and Queen’s Guide Award Residential 23 April, 2026We’re holding a residential for all members who are completing their Duke of Edinburgh Award or Queen’s Guide Award, and we’d love to see you there!
This residential at Guys Farm Activity Centre offers a unique opportunity to complete the residential requirement for your Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award or Queen’s Guide Award while gaining a valuable leadership qualification, your Level 1 walking qualification.

Young Leader Sleepover 25 August, 2026Join us for our latest young leader social event! A sleepover for young leaders to meet their peers across the north west and find out more about the opportunities available to them in Girlguiding North West England. Held at region HQ, this event includes:

Join us for an inspiring day where you can build meaningful connections and learn valuable new skills that you can apply to your daily life. As part of the response to the annual Girls Attitude Survey, this event is designed to empower you with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in all aspects of your life. Whether you’re looking to expand your network, gain fresh insights, or discover practical skills, this event will equip you to take on new challenges with confidence.
A variety of sessions will be available on the day and these include team building with bricktopia!, designing your own event necker, guest speaker on confidence for young people and more sessions to be confirmed…
There is an option to add on a sleepover to the event when booking. The sleepover will include a movie night, badge swapping, toasting marshmallows, camp fire songs and much more…
Where: Girlguiding North West HQ.
When: The day event will take place on Saturday 27 February. Please arrive between 11:30am – 12:00pm. This event will finish at approximately 6:00pm if attending for the day. The sleepover will finish at 10am on Sunday 28 February.
Transport will be arranged for pick up/ drop off at Preston train station if required.
Cost: Tickets are £5. Upon arrival you will receive a £5 voucher for the GGNWE shop in your event goodie bag.
Dress code: Please wear Girlguiding uniform.
What to bring: You may wish to bring a notepad and pen, and a refillable water bottle. There is no need to bring lunch, as this will be provided.

Cityscapes Adventure 27 May, 2025After the success of Cityscapes 2026, we’re glad to be back hosting in Carlisle! Explore the city and take on this amazing outdoor adventure! Work together as a team to complete challenges and activities, meet new friends and race around this urban scavenger hunt.
Cityscapes will take place on 13 and 14 March 2027. Join us on either day, for a day of fun!
We will be hosting activities across Carlisle city centre.
Explore a new city. Visit museums. Do quick crafts. Go outside your comfort zone. Dive deep into historic landmarks. Find movie locations. Snap a pic of a famous building. Vlog your adventures. Race to finish as many activities as you can.
At our Cityscapes Adventure, you’ll do all of this and more!
You’ll gather your favourite guiding group and set off on an adventure across Carlisle to complete as many activities as you can before the day ends! Earn badges, make friends, and see if you can climb your way to the top of the leaderboard.
Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday 14 October at 12pm. You’ll get an email to the address you have on GO. To make sure you receive the email, make sure you’re opted into marketing communications in GO.
Payment is made online at time of booking so it’s a good idea to confirm the number of people coming with you as soon as you can. The price is £10 per person, which includes a badge, and there are no additional booking fees.
