Who is level 3 for?

For anyone leading a team of adults, at least one leader per unit (leader, assistant leader, leader in training), mentors, advisers, coordinators (except GO coordinators), licence holders on residentials, trainers, tutors and those that need level 4.

Don’t forget you will also need to complete Levels 1 and 2. The Level 1 training can be found on the Learning platform here and the Level 2 training here.

The training will last around three hours and any resources needed will be sent to you in advance.

Please note: As spaces are limited, please only register if you can definitely attend. If you have completed the training within the last 3 years, you do not need to redo the training. If you’re unsure when your renewal is due, please check your GO record.

Effective Communication for Leaders August 15, 2024

This course will encourage leaders to think about the bigger impact of communication whilst exploring which style of communication is the best tool or media for communicating in their circumstances. This topic aims to encourage leaders to think about the bigger impact of communication – considering body language, tone, listening and tone of voice in written communication too.

This training will take place Wednesday 27 November, 7-8:30pm.

Celebrating Every Member August 15, 2024

This training will give you the theoretical and practical knowledge you need to make Girlguiding an inclusive and welcoming place for all members. In this session, you’ll find out about inclusive decision-making and leadership, and how you can adapt activities and meetings so everyone can have a great guiding experience. You’ll also learn how you can support young members and volunteers and how to report discrimination.

This training will take place on Monday 2 December, 7-8:30pm.

A Safe Space for 14 – 17 year olds October 22, 2024

This training is a chance to complete A Safe Space for 14-17 year olds through a webinar. This is open to all young leaders and young external volunteers.

To enable young volunteers to help create a safe space, this training will show you how to create a healthy, safe, welcoming and fun environment for every girl.

Objectives

By the end of this session the participants will:

• Explore and understand the Girlguiding code of conduct and how it applies to you.

• Discover the importance of treating everyone in your unit according to their needs and not having biases or favourites.

• Learn some quick tips for self-care while you’re volunteering.

Introduction to Managing Unit Accounts August 15, 2024

This is for anyone looking after unit accounts. We’ll look at budgeting, maintaining good records and the requirements of managing unit accounts. This webinar will support you to understand your responsibilities in managing  unit accounts. We’ll look specifically at the national accounts pack, but the principles and skills are transferable to all ways of recording accounts.

Young Leader Training Day August 1, 2024

We’re holding a support and training day for Young Leaders, and we’d love to see you there!

Location – Stricklandgate House, 92 Stricklandgate, Kendal, LA9 4PU

Time – 10am – 4:15pm

This is an opportunity for you to begin three modules of the Young Leader Development Programme (YLDP), speak to region experts for advice on all things relating to Young Leaders, and spend time with other Young Leaders from across the North West.

Branding Training October 21, 2024

Do you want to learn how to use the new brand? Then why not attend brand training on Monday, 9 December, from 7 pm to 8:30pm.

Learn about the new brand, how to use it, the do’s and don’ts and for you to ask any questions regarding the brand.

This is open to anyone in our region. It’d be very helpful for those who design in county/division/district/units, manage social media channels, or create badges.

Peer Educator Training Weekend October 7, 2024

We’re holding a Peer Educator Training Weekend on 24-26 January 2025, at Woodbank Activity Centre in Merseyside and we’d love to see you there. This weekend will cover Basic Training and Breaking Free.

By attending this weekend, you will be trained in how to deliver Peer Education sessions to units in your area, and will feel confident in helping our young members to learn and discuss relevant topics that directly affect their lives!

At the end of the weekend, you will be qualified to deliver the Breaking Free Peer Education Topic.
