We’re looking for two lead volunteers to help us plan our Pride events!

We're looking for two enthusiastic volunteers to lead our fantastic Pride events in Manchester and Liverpool.

Pride festivals are a celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) community and are a brilliant way to reach out to new communities, engage potential volunteers and celebrate diversity. Girlguiding North West England believes in being fair, open and inclusive. All members and supporters of Girlguiding are openly welcomed, irrespective of faith, race, culture, nationality or sexual orientation.

We're looking for two volunteers to lead on these unique opportunities. One volunteer would focus on our Liverpool Pride experience (Saturday 28 - Sunday 29 July 2018) and the other volunteer would focus on our Manchester Pride experience (Saturday 25 - Sunday 26 August 2018). They will work closely with each other and our PR team to ensure we have a bright and positive presence at these festivals.

The lead volunteers will oversee and help organise our Pride experiences, which will include communications to volunteers, logistically arranging participation in the parade and community stall, as well as overseeing the volunteers at the Pride festival. They will be supported by staff members in Region Office and the PR Team.

We're looking for someone with:

  • An interest and/or experience in events management
  • Passion for diversity and support for the LGBTQ+ community
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Available to attend planning meetings

Applications for these roles are open until Sunday 25 February 2018.

To apply fill out the online form here

If you have any questions about the role please feel free to contact us on northwesthq@girlguidingnwe.org.uk or give us a call on 01772 791947.

We will be opening up general applications for members to volunteer at these festivals later in the year.
